In the past two months there has been a significant increase in the theft of motorcycles from farm and residential properties in rural Taranaki.

There is no doubt that the offenders have been aware of where the motorcycles have been kept and some degree of pre-planning has been involved.

Below is a list of motorcycles that have been stolen.  Please contact Police immediately if you come in to contact with any of these motorcycles:

    *  Green Kawasaki 4 wheeler
    *  Trailer Reg 86FYR coloured blue
    *  Honda 400 trail bike - white with red seat
    *  Orange 90cc mini motorbike
    *  Childs 4 wheeler 50cc
    *  Blue/white Suzuki 125 mudbike
    *  Blue/white Yamaha PW50 motorbike
    *  Blue/white Yamaha YZ250F
    *  White/red CRF450R Honda
    *  Black Forza 140 pit bike
    *  2014 KTM 350cc motox bike - orange frame
    *  2008 RM125 Suzuki - yellow/black
    *  Red 2004 Honda CRF 150cc
    *  Blue Yamaha motox bike

It is also timely to review your current security systems at your business.  Whilst no commercial burglaries have occurred, past experience would suggest this could occur.

1. Check your CCTV surveillance systems to make sure they are working and lenses are clean

2.  Leave as much lighting on in your retail premises as possible.

3.  If you have not changed your alarm codes for some time, do so now

4.  Keep an eye out for dodgy characters that case your shop.  Obtain registration numbers of vehicles they are travelling in and contact Police.

5.  Check all your exit and entry locks to make sure they are all up to scratch.
